Bongkrekic Acid in Methanol

The concentration, purity, contents and packaging of the products can be customized upon the request of the customers.

Bongkrekic acid is a toxic cyclooctadepsipeptide produced by the bacterium Burkholderia gladioli pathovar cocovenenans, which is known to cause food poisoning in humans and animals.

In terms of solubility, bongkrekic acid is sparingly soluble in most organic solvents, including methanol. Its solubility in methanol is reported to be around 0.1 mg/mL at room temperature. The solubility may be improved by using a co-solvent or by heating the solution, but care should be taken as bongkrekic acid is highly toxic and potentially lethal even in small quantities.

It's important to note that handling bongkrekic acid requires special precautions due to its extreme toxicity. Direct contact with bongkrekic acid or inhalation of its vapors can be deadly, and appropriate safety measures must be taken when working with this substance. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, working in a properly equipped laboratory hood, and following established safety protocols.
